Dear Trail Boss Tours,
Thanks so much for a great 40th birthday!

I have done a lot of riding in the last 25 years and have traveled to a variety of riding locations. Our trip to Baja with Trailboss was one of the best adventures I have ever had. Trailboss provided us with a first class trip, incredibly accommodating service and well maintained top of the line WR450’s.

Latest Ride ReviewOur group got together to celebrate my 40th birthday. We are all experienced riders and were looking for a challenge. The staff at Trailboss tailored our rides for our abilities and we never felt that they under-delivered. When we weren’t riding, our schedule was loose and flexible; after all it was our vacation. The meals were unbelievable and we had plenty of time to enjoy ourselves after our killer rides.

Our tour included part of the Baja 1000 course, which gave us all a whole new perspective and respect for the people and teams that race it. The start of our tour was at Horsepower Ranch and we happened to run into the King of Supercross, Jeremy McGrath who was pre-running for the Baja 1000. We were able to watch him ride the track there and had the opportunity to hang out with him in the bar. He is a super cool and very down-to-earth guy.

The first leg of our tour included a 130mile trek to Mike’s Sky Ranch. It was a great day of riding finished off with a nice meal and a chance to watch the World Series with friends. The only interruptions were to get another drink from the bar or talk about riding stories with the guys in the group. Definitely a vacation away from home.

The following morning we were off to the Old Mill in San Quintin. This was the most technical section of our ride. The riding was absolutely KILLER! The last leg of our trip was the trek back up to Ensenada. This ride was along the coast and we had spectacular views (as you can see in our pictures). Memorable to say the least.

I did a lot of research before deciding on Trailboss. Chris, Eric, Nancy and Jim were the coolest and they provided us a first class vacation. We spent a lot of time together and we all shared a bunch of stories throughout the trip. Trailboss is made up of good people I am happy to call my friends. Thanks again for the great time.

PS. This 40th birthday trip was my wife’s idea, thank you honey!

Dear Trail Boss team,
Wow!! What a ride! Probably the best ride of our lives! We can’t wait to come back next year for what is now an “Annual” event for us. From the high speed lake bed, to the panoramic high elevation views, to the pristine undeveloped coast line, to the challenging single track on the last day, what a ride! But beyond the great riding there is a single more significant facet of this ride that made it so successful and enjoyable to my self and my group; that is the fantastic “Trail Boss” crew! From Kelly’s extensive logistical work to our “Trail Boss” leader whose Baja trail nose lead us on the most complete and extensive ride ever. And what about Ryan “The Wheelie” king who chased us over hill and dale, through the dust and gave us the comfort we need to charge off across the desert knowing he would be there to pick us up and help us find our way. The tall man, Tim, who never complained about the multiple air filter changes and oil checks we required. And finally to Nancy who brought her upbeat character and charisma to the long trail ride, spanking her XR pony faster then most of us could ride with only one concern on her mind; that we were having good time. Bravo! Trail Boss Tours – You are the one-stop-shop for a Baja adventure!
Best Regards to all!

Chris & Nancy,
Just wanted to say thanks for another great ride, as you put it we had an epic ride. Riding in Baja without dust was absolutely awesome. It's going to be hard to beat this last ride - beautiful weather (we don't mind a little cold), virtually no dust and incredible traction - epic ride! I'll be back again. By the way, I know you weren't to keen about taking us out on to the dry lake but that was an experience that I'm glad we did. We don't have anything like that back east and it was great to experience - nothing like plowing thru 6" of mush - full throttle. My favorite day was when you took us on those great trails. The trail was twisty, off camber, rutted, and fast - everything we like. It was also interesting to see what your competition does or in their case what they didn't do. Dirt bikes are not meant to be on a trailer. I think that was reinforcement for why you have the best rides in Baja! We travel thousands of miles to ride and we don't want to be shuttled around in a bus. We want to ride. I appreciate the fact that when you get a group of experienced riders you let them ride. That's what we pay for. That's the thrill factor that we're seeking and that's what we tell people when they ask why we go all the way to Baja to ride. Trail Boss Tours is the only way to see Baja!
Thanks again for a great ride.

Chris & Nan,
Just a note here to say hi and thank you again for the trip of a lifetime. I know that you two are accustomed to riding in Baja, and that you take the challenge in stride (if you hadn't we all would have been in deep doo doo), but you must always appreciate how incredible the experience is for desk jockeys and pencil pushers like me. That adventure will rest in my memory as one of the high points in my life. Right up there with my first submarine cruise, landing my first airplane, and the birth of my daughter. To think that we actually traveled over 1000 miles on a dirt bike, in some of the most beautiful, rugged, and demanding terrain in the Western hemisphere, takes my breath away. Many times in the last few days I have caught myself day-dreaming about one or another of my experiences on the Cabo ride, realizing that I have this goofy smile on my face and hoping no one else has seen me. I could never explain to them what I am smiling about. Anyway, thanks again! I look forward to riding with you both again soon.

Let's do this...Ron

Thanks for the awesome weekend! Great weather, accommodations, riding, and support. The new places you selected to stay put Trailboss many notches above the rest. I like how you have the chatter boxes and Sat phone communication with the chase truck--again great improvements. This weekend was a perfect combination of riding--Trailboss's new single track routes and Seve's routes combined during the three days! I know you like many riders per trip, but I'm thankful you still ran the trip with the small group (my favorite) we had this weekend. The hiway miles let us have more time to run the single track stuff -- so it worked out well!

Kris

Dear Chris & Nancy,
I want to thank you both for a great weekend . what a trip!! Baja has never been so beautiful, all the wild flowers in full bloom. The new accommodations, the different routes, the single track trails you added, the best of all the over 30 miles of riding on the beach .You really put it all together to make the best possible experience for your clients. I also wanted to thank your expert support staff, Tim & Scott, who took such good care of us and our motorcycles. You talked about making this trip a four day event . I think that would be a great idea, then we could end up in Tecate. You can count on me to go on this trip again, whatever format you choose I am looking forward to your November ride to Death Valley. Thank you again, talk to you soon.

Sincerely,Rick Gero

Chris & Nancy - I've been meaning to write you all week, but that few days of vacation put me behind at work. Anyway, I want you to know how much I enjoyed the Baja ride last weekend. Actually, I could never explain to anyone but you the adventure, thrill and pleasure that I got out of it. Good food, great bikes, awesome terrain, and memories that I will always cherish. But it was the people in our group that I remember most. I've never tried one of the other Baja tours, but I can't imagine anyone living up to your standards. Please, don't change a thing! I will be back!

Dear Trail Boss;
I am back and settled. I can now reflect on the best time I've ever had on a dirt bike. You, Dave and Tim handled everything wonderfully. I will never forget my time in Baja.
Thank you very much.

Dear Chris and Nancy;
Being a French man from the French Riviera, living in freezing England is already something! And having a Job that carries me all around the world, but most Africa and the Middle East was not leaving a lot of options. I thought I had done everything and been everywhere !!! That's why trying to find something exciting and unconventional to do for the passing over of this new millennium was even more of a challenge. Surfing on the Web, I did find the www.trailbosstours.com which seemed to offer the answer to my prayers: A 10 days adventure in Baja, on the saddle of a motorbike, with a Trail Boss that obviously knew what he was talking about. And there I was, discussing with Chris via E-mail from which ever country I was in, the details of the ride. And this was the easy part !!! Flew over from London to San Diego, a good 11 hours flight, not really knowing what to expect, and wondering if the people I was going to spend my adventure with would be, if I will be able to keep up with the pace, and if I would be able to make it all the way! But guess what ? Everything was just superb : the adventure, the scenery, the people, the organization, the "Ride at your pace", we will wait for you, the sunrises on the sea of Cortez and the sunsets on the Pacific, and that New Years Eve in Loreto ... Will stay in my mind for ever ... This was a real experience, and now I can say it : I wasn't sure I could make it all the way (1,200 Miles) but with your help, Chris and Nancy, I did it, and I'm very proud of myself. And if you wonder about "Why ride with the rest...When you can ride with the best?" which could be a little bit presumptuous. Chris knows so much about Baja, that he doesn't need a map to find his way and he can find you a cold beer anywhere. You just have to ask for one, and believe me, we have tried, hoping that he would fail, but he didn't. Try it ! So, If you want the Ride of a Life, great people to ride with, a good and relaxing atmosphere (not too much, you are there to ride ...) good laugh and good fun, I don't think there is somebody else you can ride with. Thank you, Chris and Nancy, Mike, Rich and their Dad, the famous DP, and of course the unforgettable Ron precious driver and mechanic of the support truck. A great bunch of friends. But promise, next time, I will improve those Wheelies, so I can show off like the others when we cross those fishing villages.

Now, I'm known all over Baja as : Thierry Medina - "Francois", The French man from England

Well, here you are sitting in front of your computer and you're thinking about doing one of these rides much like I did. If you're a motorcyclist in Wisconsin (A.K.A Ice Station Zebra) the winters are notorious for making you go bonkers. You'll sit and make motorcycle noises driving your wife ever closer to the edge. Heaven help you if you catch a re-run of Bike Week on SpeedVision. For years I dreamed of riding Baja. Crossing the vast expanse of land, standing on the pegs, crossing streams, you know the story I'm sure. I found the Trail Boss web site and thought to myself "The Dream Ride of a Lifetime...this is it." After much thought and begging on my knees to Mrs K (not a pretty sight I assure you) I booked a Mike's Sky Ranch ride. So I fly 2500 miles across the U.S.A. and I'm wondering if there is going to be anyone there to meet me. Sure enough, there they are, just as promised. And you know what? The rest of the trip was delivered just as they said. Great ride, great scenery, easy people to ride with and a Baja sky so blue it hurts your eyes just looking at it. Most people would LOVE to do some type of adventure ride but are too caught up in the daily grind of work, family and life. For many, vacation is going to a theme park to stand in a line like cattle for several hours to take a 3 minute "thrill" ride. Yeah, right. No thanks, life's a little short. Trail Boss made sure everything went without a hitch (by the way I'm a terrible dirt rider) and here I am back at my computer, safe & sound, checking out which ride to go on next...so many choices...so little (vacation) time.

When my brother talked my Dad (he's 71 ) and me into going on a Trailboss Tour of the "Lost Coast", I was kind of skeptical - I was afraid it was going to be a tightly controlled, "minimal fun" kind of deal, where you putt along real slow and get a lecture if you ride with any enthusiasm. I figured I could live with that, though, because the scenery and the experience of riding in an exotic locale would make up for any lack of moto-adventure. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong! Everybody rode at their own pace but aside from showing appropriate respect for the locals, it was use-your-best-judgement, laugh-out-loud fun - the best kind of riding. (Wanna do a powerslide? - Do a powerslide!) Even now, I sometimes catch myself laughing when I think back to how entertaining it was (I hope nobody's looking, they'll think I'm nuts!) I gotta hand it to the Trailboss folks - they see to it that there's something for everyone, and that everyone's needs are addressed. I really liked the "make it up as you go along" part - imagine our surprise when we decided to go do some exploring and found a snow bank on a mountaintop in 100 degree weather! And the fun doesn't end when you're done riding - that's when party starts, first around the beer cooler, then it's off to the restaurant for a "bench racing" & BS session that rivals the best that your riding buddies could come up with. The best thing about the Trailboss experience is you get to just "show up and ride" and experience locations you would otherwise just read about. If there's any question about the value, this oughta answer it: The first thing we did after our Trailboss adventure is to start planning the next one. Baja, here we come!

Dear Trail Boss;

We had a BLAST this weekend! Jen is dreaming of her first dirt bike and it looks like she will be leading the pack before long. Take care and we're looking forward to riding with you again.

Andy

Chris,
Hope you and Nan are well. Teri And I had the trip of a lifetime... many thanks! She's hooked and is asking when she can ride next and what trips are coming up -maybe Baja!

Cheers! Steve Levy

Dear Chris & Nancy;

Death Valley was so much fun! Roosting up Echo Canyon with our eventual landing in Beatty. We didn't win much, but we did have a good time. The next day riding down Titus Canyons will never be forgotten. The feeling of riding down this canyon with sheer straight cliffs on each side of you could never be duplicated. Scotty's Castle's, what can you say, but I wish I could have been there when it was in full operation. To bad they never finished the pool. Our leg on down to the Racetrack was a real throttle twister and our ride on into Darwin and on to Panament Springs a blast, especially the sight of snow on the ground. The last day was the ultimate in stretching the ol' throttle cable. Lunch break at Barkers Ranch is still in my mind. Especially, Charlie's seat at the top of the hill over looking the whole valley. Of course my flat tire slowed us down a little bit, but you and Mike fixed it in not time flat. To tell your the truth the tire is flat again, I must have hit another one of those nasty little rocks again. Oh' well I'm home in one piece and can't wait until my next ride. Based on the article written by Susan Murphy it makes the Lost Coast sound like my next ride. Let me know the dates and availability.

Best Wishes, Craig

Chris and Nan,

Thank you both for another wonderful Baja adventure. You really know how to put on a first class ride and make the whole week interesting, educational, humorous, and a whole lot of fun. I know I speak for our whole group (Missouri Mudders) when I say we could not have selected a better adventure guide company and certainly could not have selected a more personable couple to share the experience with. Thanks for all you do and PLEASE keep it up!

Nancy & Chris;

I just want to let you know what an AWESOME ride we had with you guys, you're the best! Our trip was everything I had hoped for and more. I can't believe how diverse Baja is, from riding on the beach to riding in the forest and everything in between. This was a first class deal, if dirt biking can be first class, this was it. You took the best care of us, you guys were so much fun and professional, and the support team, Kelly, Ryan, Bob, and Tim were fantastic. The accommodations were great, the food was the best, and the riding, AWESOME! It's been a week since I've been home and I still can't stop thinking about it. If anyone was even remotely thinking of doing a trip like this, they definitely should, and they definitely should do it with you guys. Thank you again for such an Awesome time, this is not the last you'll see of me. Please feel free to have anyone contact me if they're at all interested, I can't say enough great things about our experience. See you soon, Let's Ride-Oh-Ya

Hi Chris and Nancy,
I am back at work but can't get anything done because I keep staring out the window daydreaming about the awesome riding we did last week. That is why I am on your website right now, trying to figure out the next trip with you guys. Being a woods rider I was looking for something different by going to Baja. The riding, scenery, food and camaraderie total surpassed all my expectations. It was awesome. Plus hardly ever getting out of 4th gear on my 250 at home, WFO'ing a XR-650 was just too much fun. While the bike maintenance, or where I was going to eat or stay or any details at all made it so much more enjoyable. You guys go to a lot of trouble to cover all of the bases and I greatly appreciate it. We are already recruiting guys who didn't make it this year for the next trip. Anyhow, thanks again and I will be back riding with you as soon as I can. Thanks Again,

Bill Wolfe

Chris, Nancy and the Trail Boss Team,

I am just acclimating to the real world! The Baja Adventure trip was all that I expected and more. The mind is still racing and thinking how I can get back to a last bastion of dirt riding nirvana left in the hemisphere! Your team ensured a great event at entry level and the accommodations were awesome. The sights and terrain made for an inspiring and challenging ride even for us East Coast single trackers. Nancy or "yellow hair" her new Indian name rides like the wind "Rock the 500"......See You Soon.

Dear Chris and Nancy,

I just wanted to write a quick note to thank you guys for the great ride. The lack of dust only made it better. As usual, I was impressed with the whole Trail Boss experience, I can only imagine the work involved before, during and after each ride. The trip to San Felipe was great. I liked seeing a new place, but I like all the other places too. I really was surprised when Chris told us some of the "other guys" don't ride through the towns. That's one of the best experiences of the trip. I will recommend Trail Boss to everyone I talk to who seems interested in a trip. Again, thanks for the great trip, and thank your crew again for me. Hope to see you in 2006

Bill

Chris and Nancy,

I just wanted to let you know what a great time I had on the May 16th Mike's Sky Ranch ride--definitely a top ten on my list of unforgettable experiences. It was a unique and challenging ride and, as hosts, you set the tone for great camaraderie amongst all the participants. Although I came to the ride not knowing anyone else, I left feeling like I had made many new friends. I would describe it as not so much a tour, but as an adventure. I hope I can do another one of your rides again next year.

Best Regards,Ben Roeder
